Veneers

THE BENEFITS OF VENEERS

Veneers are an excellent way to redesign and reshape your entire mouth. Veneers are a very thin ceramic shell that covers your existing tooth structure. In placing these new veneers on your teeth, you are able to fix the look of issues such as staining, cracked or crooked teeth, spaces, misaligned teeth, chipped teeth and many others. The ultra-thin porcelain material is virtually undetectable and highly resistant to coffee, tea, and even cigarette stains.  For strength and appearance, their resemblance to healthy, white tooth enamel is unsurpassed by other restorative options.

The Procedure

To place veneers it takes approximately two to three visits. In the first visit, we will discuss the desired shape and look that you want by using veneers.

Once a plan is in place, we will carefully prepare your teeth for veneer placement. Next, we will take an impression of your newly prepared teeth. This impression will be sent to our laboratory for the final product to be fabricated. We only utilize the highest standard laboratory for fabrication of all of our work. This process at the laboratory takes between 10-14 days. While the new veneers are being fabricated at the lab, we will provide you with a beautiful temporary solution to wear.

In your last visit, we help you choose a colour for your veneers, clean your teeth and cement your veneers into place. A visible light beam is used to harden the cement in place.  When you return home, continue to brush and floss daily.  A good home care regimen will ensure the best aesthetic success of your veneers.

After the Procedure

You may experience some sensitivity to hot and cold due to the amount of enamel left on your teeth.  Sensitivity is completely normal and should dissipate within one to two weeks.

If you clench your teeth at night, Brock Dental recommends a soft nightguard while you sleep to minimize stress placed on your new veneers.

With proper home care and scheduled visits, your veneers are sure to provide you with a beautiful smile!
